Bio
Dan Seabolt, a.k.a. Danny, at the age of 12, began studying with master guitar player John King of "The Oat Bran Boys" focusing on music theory and technique. Over the past thirty years he has continued to play with "The Oat Bran Boys" at such places as The Red Rooster Tavern on Scenic Dr. in Muskegon Michigan. They can be heard (and seen) every Wednesday night serenading dinner guests. He also performs with his brother Dave's band, "Free Wheelin", based in Big Rapids Michigan.
At the age of 14, he began studying violin/fiddle technique with the West Shore Symphony's concert mistress, Jean Manning. After playing a number of classical concerts with the symphony, he soon decided to pursue his passion...fiddle music. As a result of his many years of experience, Dan has many accomplishments to his name including founder and instructor of the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association (GLLKA) Fiddle Camp 2014, various workshops for Wheatland Music Organization, and muso at The Midwest Banjo Camp (three years), just to name a few.
Dan has opened concerts for such musicians and bands such as Riders in the Sky, Doc Watson, Vasser Clements, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Porter Wagner, Jeff Carson, and many more. He has been featured on recordings by various artists and many TV and radio commercials. His most recent recording and touring include performances with the award winning singer/songwriter Ruth Bloomquist and her husband, bassist Max Bloomquist. They have been enjoyed by audiences throughout the United States as well as France, Belgium, and England. You can look them up at http://www.ruthbloomquist.com
"Creativity, exceptional talent, and unbridled enthusiasm have earned Danny a reputation that keeps him in demand wherever he goes."
